One of the significant milestones in Azerbaijan’s industrial sector was the opening of the Azerfloat Glass Plant on February 8, 2021, at the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The plant was established with the aim of promoting innovative and sustainable industrial production in Azerbaijan’s economy. In addition to being a successful example of cooperation between the public and private sectors, the project greatly contributes to the development of the country’s non-oil sector.
The plant has an annual production capacity of 8 million square meters of high-quality float glass. These products are widely used in various fields, including construction, automobile manufacturing, and industrial technologies. The plant is equipped with the most advanced technologies, featuring machinery produced in Italy and Germany, ensuring a production process that complies with international standards.
The launch of the Azerfloat Glass Plant reduces Azerbaijan’s dependence on imports in the construction sector and promotes the growth of local production. At the same time, the plant’s products are exported to regional and global markets, generating currency inflow into the national economy.
This project marks an important step in the diversification and industrialization of Azerbaijan’s economy, further strengthening the country’s international economic position.
