







The Shirin su bath-house, a part of Azerbaijan’s historical and architectural heritage, was fully restored and renovated in 2024. The Shirin su bath-house is known for its unique architectural features and the traditions that have been preserved from ancient times to the present day. This project was carried out with the aim of preserving Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage and enhancing its tourism potential.
Restoration and Renovation Works:
- Restoration of Architectural Elements:
The facade and interior of the hammam were restored based on historical documents to reflect its original appearance. Stone carvings, decorative patterns, and the dome structure of the hammam were renewed. - Reconstruction of Water and Heating Systems:
The water and heating systems, which play a crucial role in the operation of historical hammams, were modernized with new technologies, while preserving the historical functionality. - Revival of the Historical Environment:
Themed exhibits were added, providing information about the bath procedures used in ancient times, including aromatherapy and natural healing methods. - Tourism Infrastructure:
An information center, café, and souvenir shop were established on the hammam premises. The surrounding area was landscaped, and walking paths were created for tourists. - Exhibitions and Multimedia Technologies:
Multimedia exhibitions and virtual tours were added to present the history, architecture, and traditions of the hammam in an interactive way.
The renovated Shirin su bath-house is not just a historical monument but also functions as a modern cultural and wellness center. Traditional bath-house services are offered here to both local residents and tourists. Additionally, special spaces are available for cultural events, master classes, and exhibitions.
The restoration of Shirin su bath-house is a significant achievement in preserving Azerbaijan’s historical heritage and passing it on to future generations. This project not only revitalizes the country’s tourism sector but also sheds light on the ancient roots of our culture.
